Life a little Tilt Shifted

Bodiam Castle

Over the years I have been lucky enough to see some amazing places and locations. Some still stand, defying nature to reclaim them, others are now housing estates or Tesco mega stores. I am very much a SOOC person (straight out of camera) – if I had the time and inclination then I guess I’d

The Bloody Doors

First explore for a while..it was always going to be an awkward one this..for many reasons! After the usual meet up in some dodgy car park (that’s dodgy not dogging) this time at a more acceptable hour of the day we preceded to advance on our target in the usual ninja style..whilst some of the

Don’t let the sun shine down on me !

The sun shines through

Early morning trips out in the wilds of Kent can have their rewards. Hit this place nice and early on a Sunday morning, the early mist was just lifting to allow the sun to shine through, walking under the tree canopy we got see see some amazing shafts of light drifting down towards the ground.

Tunnels and Dark Places

Deep Shelter Stairs

Walking through a dark tunnel is an exciting experience. It is frightening to walk through a long tunnel. Life around seems to be silent and at a standstill. Even the beating of the heart sounds like pounding of a drum….yer right! Walking through, crawling down into, climbing up into a tunnel is hugely exciting!

Going out of my mine..

Dinas Silica Mine

well you would do…holidaying with my family! After a night of torrential non-stop rain the morning did not look like it was going to improve!…so with that in mind we decided to go underground – Dinas Silica Mine! After a small trek up the side of a mountain, being passed on the way by two

Those magnificent men….

Paragliding over Rhossili Bay

…in their flying machines! After a pleasant morning spent cliff hopping around the Worms Head by Rhossili Bay I saw these guys jumping off the hill above the beach. So…one long climb up another hill (Wales is just covered with them) I nestled down in the heather to take some action shots of these paragliders.

Some classic days out exploring

The boys are back in town

There have been some classic moments over the past few years whilst hitting the road with a bunch of cool like minded explorers, across the UK into France and Belgium. We’ve had our ups and downs, run ins with crazy game keepers, the police and local peasants. Above all, we’ve laughed a lot and that’s

Box Quarry!

Cathedral at Box

After a manic 3 weeks at work it was time to kick back and have a laugh…mainly at the expense of Jimbo today, who, combined with a terrible weak bladder and the courage from a character from a Wizard of Oz story made the 5 odd hours getting lost under Wiltshire just about bearable! Box Mine…or

Bluebell Woods

Bluebell woods

Denge Woods (18.04.2014) went out to photograph the bluebells in the woodland, managed to find a few orchids that are just coming through on Bonsai Bank. Taken from the footpath at full 200mm focal length with the camera on Auto (sometimes you just have to let technology take over) as there are so many orchids

A walk down The Channel Tunnel

Tunnel Bore 1880

After a long walk, with the threat of heavy rain, you get to spend a good hour or two slipping and sliding, crouching and crawling along one of the oldest tunnels dug by humankind.  That mud is sticky…very sticky and I’ll defy anyone to go down there and not come out covered! It’s normal to

I see ghosts…

I see Ghosts

I see ghosts…, a photo by The Urban Adventure on Flickr. Whilst the city above partied on…so did we! It’s amazing what you can find if you look hard enough…the world beneath your feet can be a fascinating place to dwell! This place was huge! The pictures just can’t tell you how big it was
